FED:Gay marriage advocates rally in Sydney
Thousands of gay rights advocates have marched through Sydney following the vote on
same-sex marriage at Labor's national conference.
Some are angry Prime Minister JULIA GILLARD plans to give federal MPs a conscience
vote on any legislation to allow gay marriage,
The Australian Labor Party has voted at its national conference in Sydney to amend
its policy platform to support gay marriage but also agreed to a conscience vote in parliament.
Police have estimated the crowd, which is gathering outside the ALP's conference at
Darling Harbour, at five thousand strong.
