Vic:Two men hospitalised after near-simultaneous assaults
MELBOURNE, Feb 6 AAP - Two men have been taken to hospital after unrelated fights broke
out in close proximity to each other in bayside Melbourne early on Friday.
Police said a man suffered serious head injuries after he was hit with a mallet during
a fight over a taxi on the Esplanade at St Kilda.
A 25-year-old man was taken to The Alfred hospital with cuts to the head about 1.30am
