NSW: Police corruption probes into top officers report tomorrow
Two explosive police corruption reports .. centred on a couple of senior New South
Wales investigators .. will be tabled in state parliament tomorrow.
The two unrelated Police Integrity Commission reports examine the conduct of leading
Homicide Squad Detective PAUL JACOB and Sydney Superintendent ADAM PURCELL.
NSW Police Minister DAVID CAMPBELL says he won't comment on the reports until after
they've been tabled in parliament.
But he says they demonstrate there are checks and balances in place .. and that no-one
is going to tolerate illegal behaviour by police.
Mr CAMPBELL's declined to comment on claims one report reveals an officer had been
sacked for leaking information that a child sex predator was living in a western Sydney
community.
The PIC is expected to make recommendations on whether Police Commissioner ANDREW SCIPIONE
can order the dismissal of Superintendent PURCELL.
Phone intercepts have revealed him leaking details of a sexual assault complaint and
criticising senior police.
Mr JACOB is in the spotlight for allegedly "going easy" on former Bathurst detective
inspector BRAD HOSEMANS .. who's a person of interest in the disappearance and suspected
murder of Bathurst woman JANINE VAUGHAN.
