VIC: 44 rescued from surf at Victorian beaches
MELBOURNE, Dec 30 AAP - Surf life savers had their busiest day of the summer so far,
rescuing a total of 44 swimmers at beaches around the Victorian coast today.
Most of the swimmers or body boarders had been caught in rips, Surf Life Saving Victoria
spokesman Tim Gentle said.
He said that all those who got into difficulties were brought back to shore in good
condition, but he warned swimmers to take care where they swam.
"This is a reminder on how important it is to swim between the flags," he said.
A total of 77 people have been rescued off Victorian beaches this summer
